Rolling Bagels
Random post here and a shameless plug. I love plain toasted bagels. I love peanut butter. And I love strawberry jam. I love them all together.
My favorite breakfast place in the world is Rolling Bagels in Salem, OR near the intersection of Lancaster and Market. It’s a little place hidden from the busy traffic of Lancaster nestled in the back of a strip mall. Don’t let it’s quaint appearance fool you. This place makes some good bagels on location.
It’s great because all of its employees- with the exception of 2- are from Slavic decent so there is always an interesting accent or language to listen to while you are there.
So about 4 days a week I enjoy a plain toasted bagel with creamy peanut butter and strawberry jam with a medium Pepsi. Tanya- my favotite RB employee- calls it my “regular”. All of that for only $3.60.
Rolling Bagels also has an impressive salad and soup bar with about 8 soups to chose from daily that come as ‘one time through’ or ‘all you can eat’. They have a wonderful selection of sandwiches too. For lunch you can get a large bowl of soup, a large 1/2 sandwich, and a medium drink for only $6.95.
This post reminds me of the weird children Christian song by a weird children’s Christian artist with a vey freaky doughnut puppet: ‘Life without Jesus is Like a Doughnut’ by The Doughnut Man.
