Surprising Response

Sometimes God amazes me. Well, I guess that he always does.

I always try so hard to catch people’s hearts for God when I am speaking or doing various ministry activities. Sometimes I am limitedly successful- through the power of the Holy Spirit of course. But so many times; it seems like I am unsuccessful. I’m not sure why. Most of the time I spend countless hours preparing, studying, praying, and getting my heart in the right place.

I guess the bottom-lines is that it’s all about God. It’s Him who touches hearts, it’s Him who brings men to repentance, and it’s Him who saves. It really doesn’t matter what we do or don’t do. Sometimes He chooses to use us, and sometimes He doesn’t.

A lot of times when I feel I did the worst- when it comes to speaking and ministering- I Find out later that God used me mightily to touch others. And many times when I feelĀ I did my best; I realize that not much fruit was produced and will even get ridiculed for my work from others. It reminds me that ‘when I am weak, He is strong.’

So here at CCA, we have had many great speakers and many great messages that have proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ well. But, for whatever reason, there hasn’t been too much response from the students.

Today, however, we had our worship leader speak to the young people in church. I have great respect for this man and his wife, and for the years of service that they have given to the Lord for His Kingdom. He spoke a wonderful message. He was calm, cool, and collected. He really seem to allow the Holy Spirit to lead him in what he said. He spoke of his past ministry experiences. The message seemed like it was a message for the Church. But, for some reason, it really seemed to reach the majority of our students who are not Christians at all?

I thank the Lord for this, and for the response that the Holy Spirit brought forth from this message and His servant. I know as a minister that it feels great when the Lord uses you to reach His children for the Kingdom. And it couldn’t happen to a more deserving man.

I pray that this event will open the door to our students being even more open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and to the preaching of the Gospel by the many wonderful people doing God’s work here on campus.
