Dreams

I talked on the phone with my sister today and she told me about a horrible dream in which I died. She gave me all of the dark and depressing details. It was horrible!
The week before I had a very graphic and vivid dream about my sister and brother-in-law dying also.
As I’ve been extensively studying the Old Testament for several months, one thing has become clear: dreams were a big deal to people in the Near-East during ancient times. And every time a dream is recorded in the Old Testament, it meant something.
So here’s my deal; I have some crazy dreams that don’t make any sense! I have some dreams involving things that I NEVER think about while awake. I have some dreams where I do some very bad things and very bad things happen to those I love.
And if every dream that I had meant something, I would be in big trouble. And I’m sure most of you could say that too.
However, I do know some people who walk around in fear worrying that every dream they have means something and that is paralizing.
If I had more time, I would study the psychological, emotional, and spiritual meanings of our dreams, but right now that’s low on my to do list.
Until then though, I’ll keep wondering why we have the dreams we do and if they all mean something in some way, or not.
