Church Marketing 101, Part 5
What I learned most from Chapter 5 of Church Marketing 101 was the idea that if members and visitors don’t feel like your church has connected with them, that they will never invite anyone and/or will never come back. The book suggested finding the answer to these 6 questions for the churchgoers in your church when considering whether or not you have connected with people:
1. Will my friend feel welcome?
2. Will my friend fit in?
3. Can I feel confident that I know how the service will turn out?
4. Will my friend get something out of it?
5. Will my friend understand it?
6. Will anything that could be seen as strange to the visitor be explained through Scripture?
As I consider how to structure my services, then market to my greater community, I will definitely consider how I am connecting with those who attend and visit my church and consider these questions when doing so, then make the appropriate changes to make sure these questions could be answered positively.
