Follow Me Preview
This Sunday I am starting a new series at Fellowship Church entitled Follow Me. It will be exploring the times in Scripture where Jesus called others to follow Him and their response. I will be calling people to search their hearts to see how far they would be willing to follow Jesus, and destroying the notions that being a Christian is simply praying a prayer to ask Jesus into your heart, but instead is a life of devoted following and leaving things in the past.
Here is an excerpt from the end of the first message. It is not really meant to be funny, but it is:
But Jesus doesn’t care about your “BUTs”.
Sir Mix-a-Lot may like big BUTs, but Jesus doesn’t.
One guy had a ‘BUT’ about his home, another about his father’s funeral, and another about money….
Jesus doesn’t want ‘BUTs’; He wants surrender, Lordship, control, and…
.…He wants you to follow Him

In Kindergarten I was officially voted 'Most Inquisitive'.
I have been asking questions ever since as I believe that they are the catalyst to discovering the world all around us.
The answers to these questions have led me into an everlasting committed relationship with Jesus Christ, into a marriage with the love of my life, and into being the father of the two most beautiful children on earth.
It is my personal mission to glorify God with my life, advance His Kingdom through my ministry, and to love my family with everything I have.
I am the Pastor at Fellowship Church in Salem, Oregon and these are my thoughts on life.
I’m glad you can recognize that’s funny. Otherwise you would have a rather disenchanting speaking experience on Sunday when everyone laughs right as you are driving your point home.
