A Full Week
So I haven’t been blogging too often lately as I have been extraordinarily busy. Busy, but doing good.
Not to bore anyone, but here are some things I’ve been up to and some of the momentum we are experiencing as a church:
Last Thursday, it was a blessing to go out to breakfast with an old youth group member who is now serving our country in the Navy. He’s a life that I didn’t think I had much impact on, but I’m glad to see I was able to play a small part in where he is today. I am even happier to see where God is blessing Him and taking Him.
Immediately after that breakfast, I went to lunch with a new couple at church- great to get to know people, learn about their story, and find out how I can minister to them. Great people who I hope to be friends with.
After that, some errands, and then I went to head up to Generation Unleashed with some teens from our youth group, some college students, and some leaders from our church. We had one of the biggest groups there, at 30. It was an AMAZING and POWERFUL time of worship, preaching, and workshops. It was an honor to be a part of 3,500 young people from the Pacific Northwest worshiping together. God spoke to me mightily during the first night of the conference (which I may or may not share the details of in the future).
One of the greatest aspects of the conference was how it bonded the young adults in our church- that alone was priceless.
While at the conference, I came down with a horrible cold, but that didn’t stop me from being a part of all God had for me to do this weekend.
Upon arriving back in Salem, I got right to work at putting on our SATURDAYNIGHT Worship Experience. I spoke the first message of our Money Matters series entitled “Mine”. At the end of the service, I had the young people who went to GU pray for anyone who needed it and that, in and of itself, was beautiful. After the service I got to talk to a great new couple who had moved to Salem, and a large group of our young people went on the SATURDAYNIGHT activity despite many of them being at GU all weekend.
Sunday morning I was at it again, teaching the message on “Mine” at 8:30am, back up again at 10:30am, running off after the message at 10:30am to baptize two people!
After those two services, we were off to set up for our Second Annual Free Community Super Bowl Tailgate Party, and I was sick! But thank God for AMAZING volunteers who saw the whole thing through despite me being pretty ineffective from being so sick!
The event was a HUGE success! K-Love was there entertaining kids. Hundreds of people came onto our property. We served hundreds of hamburgers and hot dogs. Over a hundred people watched the big game live on our big screen. Games and prizes were offered for kids. Ice cream, Italian sodas, and espresso was literally flying out of our cafe’. I got to see some people absolutely SHINE in ministering one on one with those who were spiritually or mentally lost. It was AMAZING!
And to top it all off, we got a front page article written about it, along with pictures and quotes from me, in the Statesman Journal the next day!
Over the last few days, emails, Facebook posts, text messages, calls, and cards have come in encouraging us and congratulating us for the difference we are making in the community and thanking us for what we are doing for Christ!
To top everything off, on Monday someone showed up at our door with a brand new microwave for us (ours broke and 30 min before they showed up at the door I had posted on FB about needing a used one if someone had a spare); someone donated a limo to our church; and a company agreed to do an expensive parking lot remodel for us for free!!!! And- I got word that there are some super talented and gifted people who are considering making Fellowship Church their home church and joining our ministry team!
Things are good. Momentum is definitely building! And I pray that God will continue to move and that we will continue to remain open to His moving!
This is only a surface-level explanation of what’s been going on and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

SO exciting!!! Jesus is doing AMAZING things!!!
