Catalyst West Coast. Session Two Notes. With Dave Ramsey.

Session Two of Catalyst West Coast brought a great message on leadership from Dave Ramsey. I must admit that I’m not too big of a fan of Ramsey. I think, that if not careful, someone could walk away from his teachings thinking that saving more money was one of the most important aspects of being a Christian, and forget parables such as the one of ‘The Rich Fool’ in Luke 12. Nonetheless he shared some wonderful principles on leadership.

He shared that how if we, as leaders, do something stupid, it effects every one of those we lead, even their children.

With that in mind he shared 5 Leadership Principles That Get You To Where You Want To Go:

1. People matter

2. Building an incredible team and culture matter.

3. Slow and Steady Matters.

-Our culture exemplifies microwaves, but it’s crock-pots that matter.

-Everything has to have every detail adhered to. Every Sunday matters. Every sermon matters. Every song matters. The stage’s cleanliness matters.

4. The financial principles matter.

5. A higher calling matters.

-One’s just a brick-layer, while one’s building a cathedral.
