This is mushy, romantic, and somewhat personal- readers beware.

I have been with my wife Susan for over 16 years, and have been married to her for nearly 13. I love her and could not be any happier that we both made the decision to do life with one another.

And what’s amazing is that; 16 years, two kids, and an interesting life later, I actually love her more- way more- than the time we started dating and even more than the day we were married. And to be honest, I’m far more attracted to her now, and think that she is far more beautiful at thirty-something, than she was at 16. We are better friends, better spouses, better parents, and better lovers than we were the year before, and the year before that, and the years before that.

Each day, I discover something new about her- I realize that I care about her, and love her even more.

These past 7 years, especially the last 3 or so, have been a whirlwind for us- times of extreme highs and extreme lows. These past 2 years have been very difficult for us in many areas, but our marriage, our friendship, and our sex life are better than they ever have been! We have come to rely upon each other more and more each day; as we both learn to rely on God.

This past week, we had the opportunity to get away for the night. We stayed in a romantic hotel room that sits right on the beach. We both did things that the other liked, wore clothes the other liked, gave, and took. The night was great. The ocean was great. The dinner was great. The drive was great. The private beachfront hot tub was great. The hotel room was great. But my wife; she was AMAZING. If all we had was one another, that would be enough.

I can’t wait to see where God takes us; what adventures await us; how much more in love we can grow.

Comic Books on iPad-

Never before have comic books been so accessible in your hands! Pick
what comic you want on the Marvel App (plus many others), purchase it
(unless it’s one of the many free titles), and have it downloaded to
‘the Pad’ in seconds. The comic book is vibrantly colorful on the
iPad’s hi-res screen and flipping pages with the touch screen has
never been easier! Add to it panel by panel viewing and you have an
amazing comic book experience! The only downfall: $1.99 per digital
issue is a little too steep.

Survivor: Heroes vs Villains-

This has been the best season of Survivor ever! My wife and I LOVE
this show and I want to be on it so bad! Watching Russel and Parvarti
run the show is fascinating. I doubt Russel will win, but even if he
doesn’t, he’ll probably go down as the most stategic and skilled
player of all time. Personally, I’m rooting for Rupert.

My Wife:

Obviously I have always loved my wife, but I am beginning to realize
that the longer we have been married, the more time we share together
being parents, and the more she supports me in ministry- the more I
love this woman!

Sleeping In-

My schedule has been thrown out of whack the last few weeks. I’m a
real regimented guy when it comes to my schedule so I have to figure
out a way to get things back on track again because I’m liking
sleeping in way to much lately. Ok, so I always have bit I want to be
a early riser so I can get things done during the day, and spend 100%
of my evenings with the family.

Over the next few days I will be trying to share some of my thoughts regarding the innogeration of President Barak Obama this last Tuesday.

The first thing that I wanted to mention is the Invocational Prayer by Saddleback pastor and Purpose Life author Rick Warren.

There was much controversy over Obama choosing Warren to give this prayer, mainly because of his stance that homosexuality is a sin

Warren did a great job letting his Light shine before men with this prayer. The prayer introduced the Gospel to it’s listeners by invoking the God of the Bible as the creator of everything, as a loving God, and as a God that all men will be held accountable to some day. He introduced Jesus as the One who has the power to save lives.

So besides simply praying for our new president and our nation, I believe that his primary purpose for the prayer was evangelism.

I also had somewhat of an Old Testament prophetic feel to it as He asked for God’s forgiveness corporately when we fail.

Here is the transcript of Rick Warren’s prayer:

Let us pray.

The iPhone!

This thing is sweet! I have had mine for about 2 months and it never ceases to amaze me!

The greatest thing about the iPhone are the Applications. There are so many applications availbale for so many different things. The best thing about them is that most of them are free!

I have some awesome games like Tap Tap Revenge, FS5 Hockey, Hanoi, iBowl, and Cyber Chess (Cyber Chess couldn’t be any more difficult!).

I have some awsome research tools like Wikipanion and the YouVersion Bible which puts about every version and language of the Bible instantly in your hands.

Two of my newest Apps are ScoreMobile, which allows me to keep track of any professional sports’ stats and scores in real time, and Loopt, which enables me to be able to track my friends who have iPhones and chat with them on a MySpace-like platform.

I am looking forward to the day when more of my friends and family get iPhones so we can enjoys some of the incredible Apps together.

There are, however, a few things that could be improved on with the iPhone: 1.) It needs a longer battery life, 2.) It should have been created to be more compatible with older iPod accessories- like docking stations, chargers, and car stereo adaptors, 3.) If you recieve a text from a number that is not in your contacts, you do not have an option to save the number from that text to your contacts- that is lame- every other phone I have had has that option, 4.) While looking at a specific contact, you are not allowed to send that contact information via text messaging to someone else- this is also lame- once again, every other phone that I have had gives you this option, 5.) You cannot send picture, video, or audio multimedia messages from the iPhone- this is ridiculous and makes no sense at all!, 6.) The iPhone cannot capture video- come on now!, AND 7.) there needs to be a way to download Google Maps onto the phone so the GPS can interface with the map when you’re not in cell phone range.

This was supposed to be things that I am digging, but instead it has sounded like me bashing the iPhone. I really am not though. I love it, there is just some room for improvement

Wild Cherry Pepsi! Yum! A regular dose of the much needed drug- caffeine.

Red Baron Deep Dish Singles Pepperoni Pizza! Wow! No Joke, this is literally my favorite pizza on the planet…and it’s frozen and microwaveable!
Taco Bell Chicken Fiesta Burritos with no fiesta sauce, plus sour cream! With no Taco Bell for nearly 30 miles, this is something I gravely miss! I went from about 4 of them a week, to about 2 of them a month.

And…..the new show Fringe on Fox. How could you not like something from JJ Abrams? This is a good mix of The X Files, Alias, CSI, and Lost. If you have checked out this show yet- do.
